¶ Vancouver Island Workshops @ Horne Lake Caves

The BC Cave Rescue 2025 workshops will tentatively take place at Horne Lake Caves between May 23 - 27th.
- The SRT training clinic - covers mandatory prerequisite skills and will take place on Friday May 23rd
- The Companion Cave Rescue Workshop will run from Friday May 23rd until Sunday May 25th
- The Cave Rescue Responder’s Workshop will run from Sunday May 25th until Tuesday May 27th

¶ Logistics
- A group campsite with tent space at Horne Lake Regional Park is included with the workshop fees. Those wishing to stay in an RV or off-site will be responsible for their own accommodation.
- The closest town is Qualicum Bay, about a 30min drive. There isn't much down-time so don't expect to drive into town often (if ever).
- There will be time in the morning and evening to cook meals at camp but plan to bring a ‘bag lunch’ for the day as there won't be time to go back to camp and cook between sessions.
- Sessions start early and end late in the day. To keep things moving efficiently participants are asked to arrive on time and prepared for all sessions.
¶ Workshop Info
The two workshops will run independently and participants are able to take either or both. Both workshops are complimentary to each other and participants in the Rescue Responder's Workshop are encouraged to take both over the 5 day period.
Workshop fees are TBD $110 if you take one or $200 for both, this includes the fee for our group campsite and the payment processing. Please keep in mind that BC Cave Rescue does not receive consistent funding from the government and primarily relies on donations and funds gathered from these workshops. Facilitators are volunteers and pay for their own travel expenses. If the workshop fee is a barrier, please let us know. We can offer assistance or make arrangements. Furthermore, donations in support of our cause are warmly welcomed and greatly valued.
¶ How to sign up
Workshop registration is not yet open for the BC 2025 workshops.
Workshop space is limited. Filling out the form does not guarantee a space in the course. A follow up email will be sent out to inform you if you have made it on the course or not and to provide payment details.
